30 Days of Giving Thanks – Days 26, 27, and 28

26) a Charity:

Well, it used to be Susan G. Komen but I was left with a slightly bitter taste in my mouth after the whole Planned Parenthood debacle. I’ve since split what I give to SGK and given a portion of that, included with another portion to the ASPCA, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and March of Dimes.

Although Beanie was 5 days late, she was still a NICU baby and I’ve seen the babies that go into the NICU and my heart breaks for the parents that have been through that and that are currently going through that.

27) A Song:

Heaven by Bryan Adams and Jason Aldean

E and I had a very small (read: 20 people) wedding and we didn’t have the reception with all the food and dancing but we both agreed, early on, that this was our song. This is the song that reminds us of each other.

28) A Gift:

hmm. I can’t pick one. I’m grateful for all of my gifts but if I could call her a gift, I’d say Beanie. We weren’t supposed to be able to have babies so when I found out I was pregnant, I felt as though I was being given a gift ♥

Happy 24 Weeks

I don’t have a picture yet, that will come later today/tonight.

I’m not entirely positive what the hell that thing is in the Baby Cooper ticker. If it scares you almost as much as it scares me, I think I’ll change it.

From FertilityFriend.com:
Your baby now weighs around 1.5 lbs (700g), and measures about 8.8 inches (22cm) from crown to rump, but this varies from baby to baby.

Your doctor should be able to hear your baby’s heartbeat, using a stethoscope or Doppler ultrasound device. If your partner puts his ear right on your belly in the right position, he might even be able to hear it unaided if there is no background noise.

Your baby sleeps and wakes in a more regular pattern now. You may notice that your baby is particularly active when you are resting.

The center of your baby’s bones are beginning to harden.

If your baby is a boy, the peanuts will start to descend into the scrotum now. If your baby is a girl, the vajayjay will begin to hollow out and mature now.

Your baby can make a fist now and may already have a preference for the right or left hand.

With modern medical technology, your baby would have a chance to survive if it were born now.

(I realize some of this may not be politically (or anatomically correct), however, I simply can’t say vagina without giggling like a 12 yr old school boy. Go ahead and judge me. I’m ok with it)

I’m definitely beginning to feel the added weight that this little lady brings. Totally not a bad thing at all, but it’s getting harder to get more comfortable at night and stay that way. Poor E gets woken up at least twice a night (what am I saying, Poor E my behind! He steals my body pillow!)

We’re extremely relieved to see the last part of this paragraph about the baby having a chance to survive if born now. We aren’t anticipating an early delivery by any means, however, we do go for a Fetal Echo next monday. Due to some family history with heart issues, we want to make sure her ticker is working a-ok.

Saturday is the party and we’re SO super excited (ok, those are my words b/c those of you who know E, know he would NEVER, in a million years so he was so super excited about anything) to see everyone! Party starts at 1, along with food!

We Planned A Party

We all know my stellar planning skills.

My poor husband. He’s all “Hey hon, you think we might want to tell people about this party we intend on throwing? I mean, we have a pavillion, we have food, we NEED guests”.

Ah crap.

Cue the scrambling.

Mind you, I have no one to blame but myself. I can’t even blame this on E or the baby b/c the baby isn’t here yet and E, well E isn’t the planner in the marriage.

After getting together with my MIL over a week ago, I figured maybe we should do something with all the addresses we collected.

I’m happy to say, THE INVITES ARE IN THE MAIL!

The party is June 4 @ 1p, we have a caterer (Beefalo Bob’s), which will provide a crap ton (real metric measurement, I promise) of meat and other foods which are completely family friendly, and now we’ll have guests. We hope.

Yes, it’s slightly tacky but we’re going with a BYOB scenario. We wanted to make sure everyone could drink what they wanted and I’ll admit, I’m slightly irate sad that I can’t drink.

Side Note: We included this blog address with the invites (if you didn’t get here from the invite LOL). We wanted to have a place where we could keep up with our out-of-town family and friends since we’re incredibly busy, not every one has facebook, and we’re having a baby in holy-crap-way-too-short-of-time about 4 months.

It’s Been A While

Sorry, it’s been a while, I suck at this “keeping up with things” bit. Thank god my sister-in-law told me they make timers for babies b/c otherwise, this here Baby in the Bellah would be absolutely screwed.
So I think the last time I actually posted on this thing, I was what? 13 weeks prego? Not much has been going on since then, with the exception of me getting bigger, E working more, and oh yea, we got hitched.
This is how we spent my 14-week pregnancy marker:
♥ Saying our vows ♥
(pls ignore the fact that I’m wearinga tent and focus on the fact that
you can give me a huge belly but you can’t take my heels away)

Jumping into the Swing of Things

**So you may be finding this blog from me telling you or my other one, which I’m trying to get away from, due to it’s association with alot of negativity.**

Either way — WELCOME!

As you can see, I started this blog back when E and I moved in together. It’s been a crazy year but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! We moved from our respective parents to an apartment and so far thats… well, the apartment is getting smaller and smaller by the day. I didn’t realize I had so much stuff until E was lost under boxes.

We just celebrated our Year Anniversary on 2.23.11 with going to Morton’s Steakhouse in Baltimore. They roll out a tray of raw meat with cuts that are the size of your head. If you are in the mood (and have a couple hundred to spend, as it is NOT cheap), I highly recommend it.

Between work, moving, more work, and just life in general, things are going great for us. We’re constantly busy and we’re loving our life together!

We’re loving it so much that E proposed!!

That’s right, we’re getting married!
He did very well with picking out this beauty!
(Ascher diamond with 2 baguettes on each side)
E decided on a white gold band with channel set diamonds
for his “fancy” band

Wedding is set for March 25, 2011. We realize it’s uber soon however, we didn’t want anything big and we just want to be married. Family is invited to the church, we’ll let everyone know the details. The reception will be held for family and friends on Saturday, June 4th, 2011.
That’s not the only news we have.

We’re also expecting Baby Cooper, or “EMC2” as we call them, on 9.22.11!! We’re over the moon with excitement and can’t wait to meet this baby!
(For the record: we are NOT getting married b/c of the baby. We decided on Jan 17 (monday) that we wanted to go to the courthouse. Neither of us wanted a big wedding. Wednesday, I wake up and find these results. Friday, it was confirmed by my PCP that we are, in fact, expecting.)
Needless to say, it’s been a whirlwind of excitement and it continues to grow 🙂
